Visual artist Emma Sofia's joint work with Kristiāns in the project "Creation of the World"

CREATION OF THE WORLD is an art project that unites 12 well-known Latvian artists - painters in synergy with the young people of the association, creating the world on canvas together.

The purpose of the project is to collect donations for the creation of a group home, as well as to emphasize that people with severe developmental disabilities are able to contribute to society and are a part of it.

All donations received are 100% donated to the association "Latvijas Kustība par neatkarīgu dzīvi" (Latvian Movement for Independent Life) for the dream of a group home.

Kristiāns is 30 years old. Kristiāns spends his life in a wheelchair due to severe developmental and movement disorders. Kristiāns is non-verbal.

“Horizon, sea, peace, harmony in the strokes of our brushes. The brush strokes of the horizon definitely belong to Kristiāns, there were not many of them, but this is not a story of quantity, but of daring, which Kristiāns definitely possesses. Dare to be yourself and try! With my contribution to this project it is important for me to transfer this harmony into good thoughts, so that the young people's dream of a home will come true in the near future,” says the painter.
